I have never engaged “graphic novels” much in a kind of snobbery for text and misunderstanding of modes of expression. This weekend, visiting the library with my children, I snatched out titles that looked interesting and have truly been gifted by them. I have needed a weekend for rest and refreshment, I am thankful it has come. Here are my recommendations:

Trouble Will Find Me by The National

I’m a big fan of The National. Hard to put my finger on what it is i like so much, but like so much i do.
just what I think. I was working on describing it and realized i’m not able to. Just “The National.” a boozy melancholy perhaps, the percussion and piano always significant. It is what it is, and I like it 🙂
Thanks for these recommendations — I’ll have to look into seeing if they’re available from our library. There are lots of valuable books found by accident at the library, such a wonderful place.
indeed!
