This song compels me into verdant places imaginatively again and again…any and all who would like or be willing – it would intrigue me to see what you each might blog/create or what is evoked for any and all of you when you engage in this beautiful piece…
The picture and title are enough to get me started, and the music is so fitting.
I don’t usually do with this very well, or at all, but this prompted me to write something.
I might post it soon.
Thanks for sharing.
thanks for responding!
Spiralling.
But up or down?
The heart moves in and out,
Its own rhythm.
Has no memory, no sorrow, no joy
( The wild geese cry, flying away
Away to the horizon of light.)
The heart has no words,
No tears.
(what I cannot grasp – the resonant fullness
Of a dying chord).
The heart has no words –
The reason music is.
This is gorgeous – hope you don’t mind me having a play!
Of darkened halls in a place long abandoned
On marshland where lanterns light a path
On ground no feet have trampled
From windows through which nothing travels
But light and leaves and wind
In silence untouched by human folly
In echoes that have forgotten us
A place that clings to the Earth
As it rolls through another day
And leaves us further
And further behind
Reblogged this on circles under streetlights and commented:
I’ve had a little play with this musical writing prompt – why not do the same?
Of darkened halls in a place long abandoned
On marshland where lanterns light a path
On ground no feet have trampled
From windows through which nothing travels
But light and leaves and wind
In silence untouched by human folly
In echoes that have forgotten us
A place that clings to the Earth
As it rolls through another day
And leaves us further
And further behind

Such a beautiful and evocative piece of music. Thanks so much for posting. Words poured out from me while listening:
A leaf pulled along
Running below the surface of the river
Its bright gold flash
Catching the eye of Time.
Rising to the surface
Tumbling
Rolling
Gliding through the standing stones
Markers on the way
that stay
while I go on.
Eddies pull me aside
Swirling
Whirling
Lost in endless turning tones
Under, over but not away
Squandering the breaking day
I stay.
Breath moves me
Currents beneath nudge.
Stream pulls the leaf
Free, torn away
Gold to grey
Running below the surface of the river
Disappearing in glorious silver light
Catching the eye of Time.
Lovely!
Dymanically sweeping the mind away with it! Lovely!
Thank you, Simon 🙂 I’m not a natural poet, but this piece of music seemed to call for poetry rather than a story.
